ALLUMINOUS and Kunstlinie will be working together to create a vibrant atmosphere on the Esplanade in 2025. Kunstlinie has been a programming partner of ALLUMINOUS in recent years, but this year there's more to come, with a more festive festival atmosphere and additional programming for all festival visitors.
Kunstlinie and ALLUMINOUS will present an outdoor stage and food court on the Esplanade, allowing all ALLUMINOUS visitors to relax with live music, food, and drinks at the beginning or end of their walk past all the artworks, provided by the various food trucks on the Esplanade.
The Esplanade stage will feature music programmed by Kunstlinie and ALLUMINOUS, in collaboration with Salty and Popodium de Meester.
Kunstlinie is also opening its doors wide to all ALLUMINOUS visitors to view two wonderful exhibitions (free during festival hours – from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM, daily throughout the festival):
First up: The solo exhibition by artist Gurb, titled "Portraits of My Demons," created in collaboration with Carte Blanche and Jij bent M. In this compelling solo exhibition by artist Gurb (Yoeri Teuben), inner demons aren't given a classical form, but metamorphose into figures inspired by Japanese manga culture: sometimes nightmares, sometimes mirrors, sometimes allies. Fear isn't denied, but experienced, explored, and made understandable.
And on top of that: the exhibition "Almere Collection: From Depot to Studio," in which Kunstlinie delves into Almere's collection, featuring old and new artworks that tell the stories of the city, past and present, from ever-changing perspectives. This exhibition offers an unprecedented glimpse behind the scenes of Almere's young city collection. What exactly is stored in the depots of a young city? And which stories are we allowed to preserve, reinterpret, or even relive? In this exhibition, you'll see works from the past alongside new work by contemporary Almere artists.
