Light Art Festival ALLUMINOUS is for everyone!
We do our best to make our festival as accessible as possible.
Walking and Cycling Route
There is a separate walking and cycling route to ensure that the walking path remains free of bicycles and scooters.
Visitors using a wheelchair, mobility scooter, or adapted bicycle (such as a tandem bike) are, of course, welcome on the walking route.
We kindly ask them to be mindful of pedestrians and to adjust their speed accordingly.
Accessibility of the Route and Artworks
Most of the route is wheelchair accessible. Only the forest section in the Lumièrebos - artwork 5 - is less easily passable, as wood chips have been laid down to prevent muddiness during rain.
For an alternative route: follow the Tuschinskypad, then the Diafragmapad, until you reach the Lumièrepad.
Please also look for the signage indicating this detour for wheelchair users.
The ground surface at artwork 9 on Atlantis Beach consists of wood chips. Please note that these wood chips may get stuck between the wheel and wheel cover of some wheelchairs or walkers.
The surface at artwork 13 on Stedenwijk Beach is sand. Please take this into account.
Artwork 14 can be reached via stairs or an elevator. The location of the elevator is indicated with signage.
The ALLUMINOUS shuttle boat unfortunately is not equipped to transport mobility scooters.
Accessible Toilets
Accessible toilets are available at all toilet locations along the route.
Sensitivity to Epileptic Seizures
At artwork 14 (Schipperplein), there may be flashing and bright lights that could potentially trigger an unwanted reaction in people with photosensitive epilepsy.
This location can easily be skipped without leaving the main route.
