Ten program components will appear along the Weerwater during ALLUMINOUS. You will encounter the following eight works of art on your ALLUMINOUS walk. From major works on the water to technological installations in the forest in the Lumière Park to grandiose installations on two of Almere's city beaches.

2. Moly Mountain

MAISON the FAUX and Linda Bosch translate the ancient myth of Circe towards our time; a maximalist story in which myths are given a new face and the boundaries between nature and technology are explored. Circe's story unfolds slowly along the path with the audio fragments filling the forest with her sounds of nature that are synthetically distorted.

3. Illusion Hole

Light lines appear on the dark Weerwater, reminiscent of a helicopter platform or runway at an airport. But instead of a signal to a pilot (or spaceship), the lights disappear into a black hole, as if the Weerwater could suddenly empty.

6. Paradise Scripture

he gigantic light artwork Paradise Scripture by Iwan Smit can be read in several ways: The shape is reminiscent of the neon signs that transport you to the street scenes of New York and Tokyo, screaming light boxes that demand your attention. Meet Circuloco

In the Circuloco pavilion, the ALLUMINOUS visitor gets an insight into light as a technological product of all times. For thousands of years, man has been trying to control the day with light, breaking the dictating effect of the sun on experiencing the day with man-made light sources. From fire to candles, oil lamps to light bulbs: the technology of the times determines how we determine and direct light in our lives. And every new lighting technology replaces the previous version, leaving the world with a technology waste heap.

Circuloco shows how old, often discarded materials can be given a new life. He who keeps something has something, is of course the well-known saying. In the Circuloco pavilion you will discover how discarded lighting technology can lead to new creative solutions and experiments. Because creative and resourceful recycling leads to future thinking and quality.

About Circuloco:
Circuloco is an initiative and collective in one, with a pavilion in the new Hortus district, of various Almere-based makers, entrepreneurs and partners, in which the future of Almere and far beyond with the circular transition on our doorstep is central.

M. Playground

M. makes it possible to become part of ALLUMINOUS in the M. Playground itself. Experiment with light objects and see how colored light suits your personality in the dark. Erwin Budding is ready here every evening to take a light art photo with you, based on your personal color palette. M.'s museum teachers are ready to provide an educational explanation of the meaning of color as part of your personality. Color experiment in the dark thus takes on a whole new layer that provides insight into how your own artistic vision works as light art as a personal expression.

About M.:
M. is a museum for immersive art and landscape art, art that is all around you. M. challenges you, involves you and makes you part of the art, with all your senses. M.'s home base is the M. Punt in Almere Hortus.
