11. Tekheads - MAX DE WAARD
This year, ALLUMINOUS is showcasing AI artworks by Max de Waard on the facades of four apartment buildings in the Maastrichtkwartier district. These are video portraits of his "Tekheads." These are the faces of the future, completely fused with the technology of the future. With their devices like technological masks, they look out over the Weerwater, ready for what we can't quite predict yet. Will we look like this ourselves, soon, as part of the "tech tribe"? These faces of the future are simultaneously hopeful and a little strange, but ready for the new world in which science fiction automatically becomes everyday reality.

ABOUT ARTIST MAX DE WAARD
Artist Max de Waard (Lelystad, 1992) primarily creates digital art, in which digital characters, materiality, fiction, and digital folklore are recurring themes; always combined with the influence of technology on the world. He also works on commission for clients as diverse as fashion brand Balenciaga and Jij bent M. during their opening exhibition at Floriade.
