The Schipperplein is being completely transformed by artist Robin Beekman. In his work, Robin explores how light can disrupt and disillusion the physical, visual perception of spaces and landscapes. Using light as a medium, this small piece of Almere's urban nature becomes a spectacle of contrasts of light and shadow, while rotating LED lights illuminate the trees and shrubs with color. By working at the edge of visual overload, space is created for afterimages and light echoes on the retina.
